2731829 - DB6 : Can not open shared object file

Symptom

You are facing the following errors in sequece:

  1. While connecting to Database, getting SQL30082N error with reason "42"
       db2 connect to <sid> user db2<sid> using <...>
       SQL30082N Security processing failed with reason "42" ("ROOT CAPABILITY REQUIRED"). SQLSTATE=08001

  2. Command "db2val -a" gives errors like below:
       error while loading shared libraries: libdb2ure2.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
       DBI1334E Installation file validation failed for the DB2 copy installed at /db2/.../db2_software. Reason code = 2.

  3. Further checking with "db2iupdt -k <sid> also gives errors:
       error while loading shared libraries: libdb2install.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
       error while loading shared libraries: libdb2install.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
