• How to hide fields related to Biographical Information in Employee Central?
• Although users have not been authorized to view biographical information fields, they currently have visibility into all user's data.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Biographical Information

1. Navigate to Employee Data, ensure the Date of Birth field is unchecked, then grant permission and save.
2. Proxy as the granted user and jump into Employee file.
3. In Biographical Information, Date of birth is still displayed.

• This is expected behavior.
• The DOB in Employee Data refers Employee Profile and not Employee Central (EC) Effective Dated Entities.
• The portlet for DOB in EC is Biographical Information and access to that portlet gives visibility to all fields there in including DOB.
• As best practice, access to the Biographical portlet should be carefully administered as this is private data and is subject to GDPR.

If it is a Business Requirement to provide access to Biographical Information data but to restrict access to Date of Birth/Region of Birth/Country of Birth field in the portlet, here's how to restrict access to DOB or indeed any field in Biographical Information Portlet.

• For general restriction - This a Blank restriction, no one can see.

• To give permission only to certain group such as HR. Everyone in Group "Bio_Group"(HR) will be able to see it, other people won't.

Note: The "Permission Group Name" can be found in the Manage Permission Groups screen.

• To give permission only for Oneself - Login User can only see their Personal DOB

Add the rule in personInfo (Biographical Information Portlet) as onView rule trigger in data model (or via Manage Business Configuration tool).
