Symptom

The Supply Planning Product Exceptions [SCMEXCV01] Data Source, and reports created from this Data Source, does not return any data.

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Business Analytics work center.
  2. Go to Design Data Source View.
  3. Search and select the Data Source: "Supply Planning Product Exceptions".
  4. Choose Preview.
  5. Enter the Supply Planning Area ID: ABC. (ABC represents Supply Planning Area ID).
  6. Choose Apply.
  7. No results are displayed.

Cause

  • The Supply Planning Product Exceptions [SCMEXCV01] Data Source has a standard display limit of 5,000 exceptions. 
  • If the number of exceptions exceeds this limit, no data is returned.
  • This is standard system behavior designed to prevent performance issues.

Resolution

  1. Use additional filters while retrieving the data from the Data Source to narrow down the results.
  2. Filter the Data Source using Supply Planning Area ID: ABC together with a Material ID: 123, the system successfully returns the corresponding Exception data.

(ABC represents Supply Planning Area ID, 123 represents Material ID)
