2732379 - Purge Inactive User fails with "User does not belong to this target group" error

After creating a purge request and approving it, the purge status will be completed; however, in the preview report it will show: Process status is "EXCLUDED" and NOTES state "User does not belong to this target group."

1. Create New Purge Rule
2. Purge Inactive Employee
3. Approve Purge Request
4. Purge Request Completes
5. Download Preview Report
6. Process status is "EXCLUDED" and NOTES state "User does not belong to this target group."

Cause #1: The user that is being purged does not fall under the target population of the user that is performing said purge.

Cause #2: The user being purged belongs to the target population, but is an error is present due to data inconsistencies for the record in question.

For Cause #1:

Perform the following steps to add all users to the target population of the user performing the purge:

1. Go to Admin Center > Manage Employees > Set User Permissions > Manage Permission Roles
2. Select Permission Role which provides the user the ability to purge
3. Click "Edit Granting" under "Grant this role to..."
4. Select Target Population as Everyone.
5. Click "Done" and then click "Save Changes"
   
   
   
   
6. Additionally under Manage User > Grant the user permission to "Manage Users"
   
   
   

NOTE: Please check if the user being purged is an Onboarding user. If so, the target population of the permission role must have the External Onboarding Users as explained at Assigning External User Target Populations to Responsible Users' Permission Role | SAP Help Portal

For Cause #2:

If you are able to confirm that the issue is not caused by scenario mentioned above, please create a case under "LOD-SF-PLT-DRM" for initial investigation.
