Symptom
You get the following messages when deleting a sales document:
‘Deletion not possible once the document was submitted’.
‘Deleting data not possible; deletion disabled’.
‘Save could not be executed’.
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Sales work centre.
- Go to the Sales Quotes view (the same message can happen in other sales views).
- In the OWL, you will see a column called Actions. Click the bin icon.
- You will get a pop-up window asking you ‘Do you want to delete the selected record?’.
- Select the answer: Yes.
Result: You get the following messages:
‘Deletion not possible once the document was submitted’.
‘Deleting data not possible; deletion disabled’.
‘Save could not be executed’.
Cause
The sales document was sent externally. It could have been sent either to an external system (such ERP - refer to KBA 2435330) or to a printer.
You can check if the document was sent to a printer going to the Output facet inside the Sales Document.
It is possible that the document was sent to a printer but were never printed. Removing the document from the printer queue (Administration view > Input and output management) won’t allow you to delete the document later.
Resolution
This is the expected behaviour and you won't be able to delete these sales documents. As a workaround, you can set these documents as Lost.
