Symptom

  • Receiving frequent error messages in the ASE errorlog:
    • Security Control Layer's memory allocation routine returned an error.
    • SCL error in function: sec_setup. Operation: sec_memalloc().
       
  • Kerberos connections are working fine.
  • ASE server checks are clean.
  • Unix host shows no issues.
  • Increasing the 'number of users connections' ASE configuration parameter provides only a temporary relief but is not providing a long term / permanent solution.
