Symptom
After declining workflow approval for incoming absence after collision is resolved, approval status of the existing absence is not reverted to previous status
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Time Off
Reproducing the Issue
Prerequisites:
▪ Time Type Collision Groupings are created and assigned to the respective time types
▪ Time Management Collision Resolution configuration is setup for the existing and incoming grouping
1. Submit Annual Leave request for an employee. Approval Status for the request shows as 'Pending'.
2. Request Sick Leave covering the full period of the existing 'Pending' Annual Leave Request. Collision message is displayed then submit the request.
3. Existing absence is cancelled as expected and incoming absence is created with 'Pending' status.
4. Login or proxy as the approver of the time off request then click Decline.
5. Check Time Records for the employee. Approval status of the existing absence remains 'Cancelled' after the incoming absence has been declined.
Resolution
This is an expected system behavior.
Collision resolution only allows incoming absences to be created if there are already existing absences fully or partially overlapping with the duration of the incoming absence. If collision has been resolved, approval status of the existing absence will be cancelled, however, when the incoming absence is declined, approval status of the original absence will no longer be reverted to its previous approval status.
