2734372 - Extension Field's Translation in Language Adaptation does not reflect in the UI

You have created an extension field and you want to translate it using the Language Adaptation. The field is listed and it has the translation but in the UI, the translation is not reflected.

Prerequiste: an extension field and a valid language adaptation with the translation for the field.

1. Go to the workcenter view or header where you have maintained the extension field.

Result: the field does not show the translation.

This text can't be translated using the Language Adaptation because it is an Extension Field on an Embedded Component. For Embedded Components, the Language Adaptation offers only those labels that are common to all usages of this EC. Means, you can only adapt the EC template, not the different usages. Reason is that we want to avoid that Key Users will have to adapt an EC multiple times for each usage.

Please use the standard Master Layout adaptation and maintain the translations for these extension fields there.

1. Press Adapt -> Edit Master Layout.
2. Hover the mouse over the extension field.
3. Open the Field Definitions.
4. Add a new description for the extension field.
