2735027 - How System Saves Exchange Rate per User Time Zone

Symptom

You do not use UTC as your time zone, and you want to know the impact for exchange rate valid from time when you maintain it.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

You do not use time zone as UTC. For example, you use UTC+8 as your time zone. You create exchange rate valid from mm/dd/yyyy 10:00:00. You want to know how system saves the validity of the newly created exchange rate.

(mm/dd/yyyy represents the month date and year maintained for the exchange rate)

Cause

System will save it valid from mm/dd/yyyy 10:00:00 UTC+8, which is mm/dd/yyyy 02:00:00 UTC. Because the system time zone is UTC, and validity is converted to UTC when being saved.

Resolution

Please always take your personal time zone into consideration when you use exchange rate validity.
