The following error occurs when importing SAP S/4HANA data into SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC):

• The following error message comes from the external data service: status:400

  code: BRAIN/599
  message: For characteristic X, enter value in a permitted format
  application component ID: FI-GL-IS

  code: RSBOLAP/008
  message: Invalid selection for characteristic

• SAP Analytics Cloud

• The original query used a date format of '012/2017', this format change occurred in SAP S/4HANA Cloud 1811 where the date format was changed in the CDS view (C_TRIALBALANCE_CDS).
• The change in the date format caused the query to fail upon execution. Once the date was updated to '2017012' the query was able to run and gather the data.
