Candidate is receiving a validation error when applying to any job requisition: "Please correct the marked fields below.Invalid Field(s):<!FieldID!>(Background Element)...." error encountered

Successfactors Recruiting Management

Scenario 1: Application using LinkedIn 2.0 + Resume Parsing

1. Access the external career portal (RMK);
2. Apply to a specific job using LinkedIn;
3. Upload a resume;
4. Fill up required information;
5. Click on Apply and see the error; (Error disappear after a few seconds)

Scenario 2: Regular Application without Resume Parsing or LinkedIn

1. Access the external career portal (RMK or RCM);
2. Apply to a specific job;
3. Fill up required information;
4. Add information to a background portlet that has required field;
5. Remove the whole background information;
6. Add again information to the same background portlet; 
7. Click on Apply and see the error; (Error disappear after a few seconds)

Scenario 3: Application with Resume Parsing

1. Access the external career portal (RMK or RCM);
2. Apply to a specific job and login to existing account or create a new one;
3. Upload a resume;
4. Fill necessary information;
5. Click on Apply and see the error; (Error disappear after a few seconds)

This issue has two main causes. One is a data problem related to resume parsing and one is a known defect:

Scenario 1 and 2: These two scenarios are being caused by a known defect. Defect code RCM-81273;

Scenario 3: This usually happens when parsing data to a field that exceeded the allowable characters to be stored on the field.

Scenario 1 and 2: Our engineering team has patched the fix on October 23th.

Scenario 3: The candidate will need to remove the extra characters for the field causing the error.
