Symptom
- You want to exclude a contact from marketing communication and activities.
- You have disabled communication channels in Marketing Consent.
- You have set Contact permissions in General to Disallowed.
- You try to send a Follow-up e-mail to a contact.
- Error message "Contacting party ID123 (Contact Name) not permitted according to master data"
ID123 represents the contact ID

Reproducing the Issue

Go to the Account Management work center.

Go to the Accounts view.

Search for contact ID123.
- Select related Account ABC (ABC is the account associated to the contact).
- Click Follow-up and choose E-mail.
Error message "Contacting party ID123 (Contact Name) not permitted according to master data" is raised on the e-mail screen.
Cause
You have disabled all communication channels in Contact ID123 master data:
- Go to the Account Management work center.
- Go to the Contacts View, search for Contact ID123.
- Go to the General tab.
In the Contact section, Contact Permissions are disallowed for all channels.
Resolution
You need to enable Contact Permissions for this Contact in the General tab:
- Go to the Account Management work center.
- Go to the Contacts View, search for Contact ID123.
- Go to the General tab.
- Navigate to the Contact section.
- In the Contact Permission drop down menu, select Allowed and save.
Now, you can send follow-up emails and leave Marketing Consent on Disallowed.
