2738906 - One Confirmation Should Contain Items Referring to a Single Document

Symptom

You are trying to release a Service Confirmation "With Order Completion" and you get an error.

Environment

SAP Business Bydesign.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Field Service and Repair work center.
  2. Select the Service Confirmations view.
  3. Search for the ID ABC (ABC represents the ID of the Service Confirmation).
  4. Click the Edit button.
  5. Click the Release button.
  6. Select "With Order Completion".

Error: One Confirmation should contain items referring to a single document

Cause

ABC represents the ID of the Service Confirmation.
XYZ represents the ID of the Service Order.
MNO represents the ID of the Contract.

The Service Confirmation ABC has been created from Service Order XYZ which has 5 items. The Service Order was created from the Contract MNO which has 2 items. The Service Order XYZ was created from Contract MNO for item 10 (item 20 is not present on the order).
Subsequently items 20, 30, 40 and 50 were added at Service Order level. These items did not come from the Contract MNO.
The system prevents the release of Service Confirmations containing a mixture of items that have Contract references and Service Order references.

Resolution

This is the expected system behavior.
Two independent Service Confirmations are necessary, one for the item with reference to the Contract and another for the items with reference to the Service Order.
