2739153 - Logistics Area Missing When Confirming Execution for a Service Order

When confirming execution for the Service Order XXX the Logistics Area for a Spare Part is missing and you cannot enter it manually. (XXX represents the ID of the Service Order).

SAP Business ByDesign.

1. Go to the Service Orders work center.
2. Select the Service Order Processing view.
3. Find the Service Order XXX.
4. Open the Service Order XXX.
5. Select Confirm Execution, the New Service Confirmation screen will open.
6. Select View All.
7. Choose Service and Spare Parts tab.
8. Select the relevant Line Item.
9. Select Part(s) Consumption subtab.

Notice that there is no Logistics Area proposed and you cannot enter it manually, as it is grayed out.

In order to determine the Logistics Area the Ship-From needs to be determined.

If the Location of Service Provision is Own Service Center, the Ship-From for the Item will be determined from the Service Center maintained in the Service Location.

If the Location of Service Provision is On-Site, the Ship-From for the Item will be determined from the Service Execution Team.

To check this, you can follow the steps:

1. Go to the Service Orders work center.
2. Select the Service Order Processing view.
3. Find the Service Order XXX.
4. Open the Service Order XXX.
5. Choose View All.
6. Go to the General tab and the Account and Affected Product sub tab.
7. In the section Service Location for the field Service Execution Team you selected either:
1. Own Service Center and did not maintain a Service Center.
   or
2. On-Site and when you navigate to the Main Information sub tab you can see that you did not maintain a Service Execution Team.
8. Hence the Logistics Area will not be determined.

This is the expected system behavior.

In order to maintain a Logistics Area you need to maintain a Service Center if you use the Location of Service Provision is Own Service Center or a Service Execution Team is you use the the Location of Service Provision is On-Site.
