An application error occurred when adding data to background block

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Profile

There is an application error while attempting to save information into the background element

"max-length" configured for one of more fields in background element is incorrect.

The max-length needs to be configured correctly as per the data in the picklist associated with the field then the application error would not occur.

In order to configure the max-length correctly the modifications needs to be performed through manage business configuration which allows the user to make modifications in the instance.

For enabling BCUI they need to reach out to their implementation partner or professional services as per process.

If they do not want to enable BCUI they can reach out to their implementation partner or professional services to make changes in the datamodel XML through backend.
