2742137 - sp_ldapadmin raises Error 12834 State 2 license ASE_DIRS is not enabled - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • When sp_ldapadmin "check_login" is executed when the configuration 'enable ldap user auth' is disabled, Error 12834 State 2 is raised, suggesting the ASE_DIRS license is not enabled.

  • 1> sp_ldapadmin 'check_login', '<login_name>'
    2> go
    Msg 12834, Level 16, State 2:
    Server 'ASE', Procedure 'sp_ldapadmin', Line 461:
    The login name '<login_name>' is invalid. The LDAP subsystem reported error '(license ASE_DIRS is not enabled)'.

  • This error can be seen even though there is a valid ASE_DIRS license available
