2742212 - Unattended installation fails with "Empty directory name is not allowed." message

Symptom

During an unattended installation of an Additional Application Server the following error is raised:

ERROR <timestamp> (root/sapinst) (startInstallation) [iaxxbjsmod.cpp:83] id=modlib.jslib.caughtException errno=MUT-03025 Caught ESAPinstException in module call: Validator of step '|NW_DI|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|NW_GetSidFromProfiles|ind|ind|ind|ind|getSid|0|NW_readProfileDir|ind|ind|ind|ind|readProfile|0|getProfileDir' reported an error: Empty directory name is not allowed. Start SAPinst in interactive mode to solve this problem
