2743428 - Unit of measure X does not exist

You get above warning message while uploading Purchase orders through Excel, where X is a Unit of measure(UOM).

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Purchase orders and requests work center
2. Go to Purchase orders
3. Click on New button
4. Choose Import from Microsoft excel
5. In the excel file, click on SAP business ByDesign button
6. Log in and then enter the details
7. Click on Business ByDesign button and choose Save to data button

While uploading Purchase order through Excel what you entered is UOM symbol but what is allowed to be entered in Excel is Unit.

1. Go to Business configuration work center
2. Go to Implementation projects
3. Open Activity list
4. Go to Fine tune activity
5. Search for Quantities and Units of Measure
6. Click on any option for example "create and maintain physical units"
   
   You can see three columns for each UOM,that is
   Unit
   UOM symbol
   Description

 Currently ByDesign is developed as mentioned above.

However, after the Purchase order is created what you see is UOM symbol and not unit.

 To avoid any confusion while entering details in Excel about the format of Unit of measure please follow below steps:

1. Go to Purchase orders and requests work center
2. Go to Purchase orders
3. Click on new
4. Choose Import from Microsoft excel
5. In the excel file
6. Click on the cell "Unit of measure"
7. Click on Business ByDesign button
8. Click Lookup button
9. You see a popup where you can choose the UOM based on Description
