2743887 - How does the SuccessFactors calculate time in position in Job History and Position Org Chart - Employee Central

You have noticed that the time in position is showing different results between your Position Org Chart and Job History.

For example:

Employee was assigned at position A by Jan 20th and today is Jan 23rd.

• In Job History it shows that the employee has 4 days of time in position;
• In Position Org Chart it shows that the employee has 3 days of time in position;

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

In Job History:

1. Select any employee;
2. Go to Job History;
3. Take note of the field "Time In Position";

In Position Org Chart:

1. Go to the position orgchart;
2. Select the position of the employee;
3. Open the session "Incumbent Details";
4. See that the time in position has one day less then in Job History.

Expected behavior since the calculation for each field it is different.

This happens because in the Job history the calculation also counts the starting date, for example if the employee has position start date as Jan 20th the system will count 1 day starting on Jan 20th please see the table below:

The same calculation when performed through the position org chart is different:
