Unable to define an org unit as a reporting line unit. Reporting Line Unit checkbox is greyed out.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Organizational Management work center.
2. Select Organizational Structure view.
3. Select the respective org unit.
4. Navigate to Definitions tab.

Then you can find Reporting Line Unit checkbox is greyed out.

The system of record for reporting line structures is Employee Central. When the replication scenario is scoped it is no longer possible to edit reporting line unit properties in the organizational management work center. It is also not possible to define an existing organizational center of different type to also be a reporting line unit. Reporting line units are only created automatically during replication based on the manager assignment of the replicated employees.

This is an expected system behavior. Please maintain the reporting line structures in Employee Central.
