Symptom
The employee maintained as Territory Owner in the header of the account ABC (ABC represents the Account ID) does not have access to opportunities linked to this account, if these opportunities are maintained in another territory.
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Customers work center.
- Go to the Accounts view.
- Open the Account ABC where you are the Territory Owner.
- Go to the Opportunities facet.
- You cannot see the opportunities linked to this account that are maintained in a territory different than the account's territory.
However, you are expecting to see these opportunities since you have restricted access for Opportunities based on the restriction rule 12 - Employee, Accounts (Account and Territory Team).
Cause
Opportunity access via Territory Team will work only if the territory where employee has access is linked to the opportunity.
Same is the case for access by Account Team: related account must be maintained in opportunity.
Territory Owner is not part of Account Team. Access for this comes via territory assignment in the respective document.
Resolution
This is the expected system behavior.
You need check and update territories in Opportunities with the account's territory as well, if needed or allow access to the user to the territory maintained in the document.
