2746900 - Error: Unknown exception in database thread (FWB 00087) causing CMS shutdown

Symptom

  • Intermittently, the Central Management Server (CMS) will shut down and generate the following exception in the OS level logs (Event Viewer / /var/log/messages):
    CMS is unstable and will shut down immediately. Reason: Unknown exception in database thread (FWB 00087)

  • In the CMS logs, the following was seen:
    (DB2Statement.cpp:202) ExecDirect: SQL: SELECT ObjectID, Version, LastModifyTime, CRC, SI_CRYPTOGRAPHIC_KEY, Properties FROM CMS_InfoObjects7 WHERE ObjectID IN (<ID>) ORDER BY ObjectID
    SResourceSource::LoadString 50293
    SResourceSource::LoadString Unknown exception in database thread
    SResourceSource::LoadString 33007
    SResourceSource::LoadString CMS is unstable and will shut down immediately. Reason: %1 (FWB 00087)
