How to build the metadata file for Single Sign On (SSO) between SuccessFactors and Identity Provider?

SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite

1. The first step to enable Single Sign On between SuccessFactors (SF) instance and an Identify Provider (IDP) is to get the metadata file from SF to configure in the IDP side
2. In the attachments section of this article you will find a template .xml file
3. Download this file and substitute the following information to build the metadata file for your instance

• SF_Instance_Name
• Simply the Company ID of your instance
• The SF_Instance_Name is unique for each instance and each customer
  
  
• EntityURL
• The base URL of SuccessFactors EntityID
• It’s the same for most data centers. The few exceptions are noted in the table below
• The EntityURL and InstanceURL are based on the data center and the environment of the instance
  
  
• InstanceURL
• The base URL for the data center where a customers instance is hosted
• It may be different for test and production if, for example, test is in a Preview data center

4. See details about each term in the table at the end of this KBA.
5. After updating all the three fields wherever they appear in the file, save so the the metadata file will be ready to use

Sign On URL (if required) 

• This is the standard login URL for a SuccessFactors tenant.
• It follows this template, combining the above-mentioned elements-> https://<InstanceURL>/login?company=<SF_Instance_Name>
