2748397 - Built-in function rm_appcontext causes memory leak in 'Pss Session Heap' memory pool on 16.0 SP03 releases -- SAP ASE

Symptom

A memory leak issue in the heap memory pool that may occur when the following conditions are true:

  • Application context built-in functions set_appcontext() and rm_appcontext() are used.
  • ASE version is 16.0 SP03 (PL00 - PL06).
  • Heap memory allocated during processing set_appcontext and rm_appcontext is not freed when clients disconnect.
  • Error 712 or 1526 can be raised when the heap memory pool becomes exhausted of free memory.
    • Message for error 712:
      "There is insufficient heap memory to allocate <value> bytes. Please increase configuration parameter 'heap memory per user' or try again when there is less activity on the system."
    • Message for error 1526:
      "Sort failure. The configure size for data cache (<name>) is not sufficient to handle the sort buffers (<val>) requested. Please reconfigure the data cache or sort buffers and try the command again"
