Symptom
You changed the Allocation Cost Element for Activity Type using App "Manage Activity Types". But with new postings you find the Cost Elements are still updated according to the original one.

Reproducing the Issue
- Change Allocation Cost Element for Activity Type using App "Manage Activity Types"
- Make postings (For example, order confirmation) and check the Cost Element updated
Cause
You get warning message "Check consistency of field Allocation Cost Element, as transaction data already exists." already when you make the change.
As soon as dependent records exist, the allocation cost element can no longer be changed in the activity type during the fiscal year. When planning prices, the allocation cost element in the master record of the activity type is transferred to a control table which is only year-dependent. This table is the basis for determining the cost element when carrying out postings.
Resolution
To avoid data inconsistencies, it's not possible to change the Allocation Cost Element during the year if dependent records exist. The change will be reflected only in the next year.
