2751547 - Length of MATN1 Characteristics increased from 18 to 40

When an Infoobject with a MATN1 conversion exit is imported into a BW/4HANA system, the original length (usually 18) is automatically changed to 40.

An attempt to change this back fails with messages like:

Characteristic &1: The length has changed from 000040 to 000018
Master Data Table /BI?/P&1 contains data: Characteristic 0MATERIAL cannot be activated
SID Table /BI?/S&1contains data: Characteristic 0MATERIAL cannot be activated
