Symptom

  • A problem backing up to Windows UNC file share after upgrade to ASE 16.0 SP03 PL06.
  • Getting the following error in the Backup Server log:

    Backup Server: 4.141.2.40: [12] The 'CreateFile' call failed for database/archive device while working on stripe device '\\<fileshare or ipaddress>\DIR\DUMPS\model.dmp' with error number 2 (The system cannot find the file specified). Refer to your operating system documentation for further details.
