2754445 - Performance Issues in Analytics objects while Deploying the Solution Patch on a System

Symptom

You are trying to upload the solution in SDK however you face a timeout for Analytics objects.

You may also experience the same timeout error during the activation or when you click Assembly.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer, Cloud Applications Studio

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log on to the tenant in SDK.
  2. On the Implementation Manager toolbar, click the Upload button and select the.zip file created in the assemble and download step.
  3. An upload disclaimer appears. Agree to the terms of the upload disclaimer and click Continue.
  4. The system unpacks the .zip file into the production tenant. During the upload process, the timeout issue may appear.
  5. If no errors or warnings are found during upload, the status of the solution is In Deployment. You can activate the solution.
  6. In the Implementation Manager, click the Activate button.
  7. The timeout issue occurs and prevent you to deploy the solution successfully.

Cause

Usually, it is due to too much content included in the particular PDI solution and then, as Analytics objects in the whole solution package are the last provider which gets called, it might result in timeout errors.

Resolution

As of 1902 release, you have a new option to ensure that only changed ANA content gets activated, the rest will not be activated again. This way we can avoid you to experience timeout issues during the mentioned phases.

During scoping, you can configure the Delta Content Activation for analytical objects developed in the SAP Cloud Applications Studio.

Navigate to:

Business Configuration > Implementation Projects > Your Project > Edit Project Scope > Questions>  Built-in Services and Support > System Management > Analytics

and select the following question:

Do you want to enable delta content activation for analytical objects developed in the SAP Cloud Applications Studio?

Ensure that you enable this business option in both the source and target systems.
