2755840 - Goods Receipt Processing Time Not Considered for Product In-house Production

Symptom

For the product XXX, you have maintained the Procurement Type as In-house Production and a Goods Receipt Processing Time. However, when planning the product XXX in planning area YYY, the Production Proposal ZZZ is created with the Start Date not considering the Goods Receipt Processing Time.

XXX = Product ID.

YYY = Planning Area ID.

ZZZ = Production Proposal ID.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Supply Planning work center.
  2. Select Products view.
  3. Search for Product XXX.
  4. Select the Product XXX for Planning Area YYY.
  5. Click Open.
  6. Select the Production Proposal ZZZ.
  7. Click Open Material Flow.

Notice that the Start Date and the Availability Date are not considering the Goods Receipt Processing Time that you set in Product XXX master data.

Cause

The system calculates lead times for products in In-house Production and other Procurement Types differently. For in-house production products, the lead time is calculated as the sum of variable and fixed durations of planning operations that are available in the Production Model of the relevant product. The Goods Receipt Processing Time will not be considered for materials that are produced in-house.

Resolution

As the Goods Receipt Processing Time is not being considered in the calculation of the lead time, the system is working as designed.
