2755861 - In SUM Extraction: FATAL: Got signal 'SIGABRT' (6)!

Symptom

  • During an upgrade on Software Update Manager (SUM), in the early Extraction phase, the following error message is displayed: 
    *** FATAL: Got signal 'SIGABRT' (6)! Please contact the SAP support!
    *** FATAL: SAPup got signal in phase 'PROFREAD', stack trace written to /usr/sap/<SID>/SUM/abap/tmp/dev_SAPup.
  • In CHKSYSPWD.LOG, the following error is displayed:
    EXECUTING /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/.../brconnect -u -c -f dbstate -RDB
    ERROR in child process: Cannot execute '/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/.../brconnect': Exec format error
