2760547 - When Manager goes on GA or LOA, direct reports does not start reporting to Manager + 1

Symptom

Suppose Employee E1 reports to Manager M1 and Manager M1 reports to Manager M2. When Manager M1 goes on a global assignment or is on a LOA, Employee E1 does not start reporting to M2 even though the Right to Return is configured and it unassigns the employee from the Position

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental

Environment

Employee Central - Position Management

Resolution

The behaviour is per the current system design -

  • If a user is unassigned from their position due to a leave of absence or global assignment, they will still report to their existing supervisor.
  • If you change the leave of absence or global assignment start date for a user with the right to return, the start date in the Right to Return object is changed as well.
  • If a supervisor is unassigned from their position due to a leave of absence (LoA) or global assignment (GA), and the start/end date of the LoA or GA is changed afterwards, the hierarchy will not be reset with the new start date.
