2760560 - Event reason import- Retroactive change of event reason with effective start date is not permitted at imports

We get similar error as below when we try to import event reason foundation object: Retroactive change of event reason ABC with effective start date 1900-01-01 is not permitted at imports.

"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."

Employee Central - Foundation Object import

Step 1: Import Foundation Object -> Event  Reason

Step 2: Full Purge/ Incremental Load of the import file.

Step 3: Error : Retroactive change of event reason ABC with effective start date 1900-01-01 is not permitted at imports

The same error is shown as below warning on UI and we can choose to accept and continue:

This works as per design and a valid error message as we do not allow the changes to any effective event reason if enhanced validations are enabled in Payroll System Configurations.

Please check the below highlighted configuration setting:

You can workaround this situation by disabling 'Enhanced validations for production' setting, if you want to make changes to currently effective event reasons. You can enable it again after making the changes.

But please aware that you should validate/reimport the information for the employees so that there will not be any data inconsistencies in employee records such that the foundation data says something but employee has some other data. So as of effective date of change in event reason, the data for employees should be corrected as well or reimport employee data with this event reason again.
