2760863 - Business Area is not available in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

You are using SAP S/4HANA public cloud edition and you want to utilize a reporting dimension to populate with Business Area.

• SAP S/4HANA Finance
• SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
• SAP Fiori 

The configuration for Business Area is not available in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. This is the standard system behavior.

In S/4 HANA we recommend to use Profit Centers and/or segments.

• In SAP S/4HANA on premise and private cloud edition, business area is still supported for migration customers for compatibility reasons. 
• In new SAP S/4HANA on premise and private cloud edition installations, we recommend to use profit centers / segment instead of business area.
• In SAP S/4HANA public cloud edition business area is not supported.

[In the context of the use of classic General Ledger Accounting, business area accounting will continue to be supported to the known extent; only a further development in the context of classic General Ledger Accounting is not planned. There will be no future developments on the Business Area - development will not work on new developments that put the Business Area in the focus. In OP we still support business area for migration customers for compatibility reasons. But no new developments takes place.]
