Symptom

  • ERROR: A column delimiter was seen after column number <X> for row number <nnn> in file <<path>\filename.txt>. The total number of columns defined is <X>, so a row delimiter should be seen after column number <X>. Check the file for bad data, or redefine the input schema for the file by editing the file format in the UI.
  • Rows read is less than the total number of rows minus the rows reported with delimiter errors
  • All records in the input file are not being read
  • Some rows are not read even though no errors are reported for those rows
  • Monitor log shows less rows than what the source file contains
  • Delimited source file
