2763634 - Migrated Fixed Asset Manual posting Error "Posting date DD.MM.YYYY must be in fiscal year YYYY for fixed asset ABC".

You try to complete any Manual posting for a migrated Fixed Asset and you receive the error "Posting date DD.MM.YYYY must be in fiscal year <fiscalyear> for fixed asset ABC". (Where ABC represents the Fixed Asset ID).

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Fixed Assets work center.
2. Select the subview Fixed Assets.
3. Search and find Fixed Asset ABC.
4. Select Manual Posting -> Revaluation.
5. Enter the required data.
6. Select Simulate, you receive the following error:

"Posting date DD.MM.YYYY must be in fiscal year YYYY for fixed asset ABC".

For the year end migration (e.g. migration date = last date of the fiscal year = 31.12.YYYY and migration movement category code = 07) the system does not allow any more corrections or manual adjustment postings into the fixed asset for that year.

All the corrections should be completed via reversing the migration and redoing it correct values in the period.

To identify the Migration movement category please follow the below steps:

1. Go to the Fixed Assets work center.
2. Select the subview Fixed Assets.
3. Search and find Fixed Asset ABC.
4. Open the Fixed Asset and select View All.
5. Go to the Values tab.
6. Select the Journal subtab.
7. Identify the migrated journal entry and view the posting.
8. Under the Item details identify the migration movement category code.

Where Migration movement category code = 07 -> the system does not allow any more corrections or manual adjustment postings into the fixed asset for that year. Instead you must reverse the migration and redo the migration with the correct figures.

Or you can complete the Manual Posting in the Current Year.
