Resolution

From Q1 2019 release, it is now possible to configure dynamic break rules in a way that it can now be decided if a full or partial break deduction shall be made when recorded working time on a specific day is not sufficient for a full break deduction.

The additional configuration option 'Method of Generating Breaks' in Dynamic Break Configuration allows for more flexible deduction of breaks from the recorded working time of the employee, and helps to adhere to legal regulations in many countries where employees are not allowed to work longer than e.g. 6 hours without a break.

Options for Method of Generating Breaks are:

▪ Partial Deduction - This is the default setting. When selected, partial breaks will be generated if there's not enough recorded working time or absences left

Example: Dynamic Break Configuration says that after 6 hours working time a 30 minutes dynamic break shall be automatically deducted, however, the total working time recorded on the day is only 6 hours 10 minutes. Depending on configuration, the dynamic deducts either a partial break of 10 minutes or the full break of 30 minutes.

▪ Full Deduction - When selected, break defined under the accumulated break in minutes for the respective working time duration is always deducted for the working time. This option could also mean that the break starts earlier than specified in the dynamic breaks rule.
