Symptom

  • It is not possible to connect or logon with user SYSTEM to the SYSTEMDB. Even after reseting the SYSTEM user password as per the SAP Note 2554177 - How To Reactivate SYSTEM User
  • The user is not locked and even after reseting a new password and trying to logon with that password via hdbsql, the below error message is displayed:

10: authentication failed: ERR_AUTHENTICATION_FAILED SQLSTATE: 28000

  • In HANA Studio the error message "invalid user name or password" is shown. Please refer to the SAP Note 3001091
