2765034 - Granting access to Talent Pool object gives access to the Succession tab

If a user is granted access to the Talent Pool MDF Object in their RBP, they will also be able to access the Succession tab in the Home drop-down menu.

1. Ensure user does not have access to the Succession Tab in the Home drop-down menu.
2. Grant at a minimum "View Current" visibility on the Talent Pool MDF Object in the users Role Based Permissions and save.
3. The user will now be able to access Talent Pools in the Succession tab.

It is stated in the Succession Implementation Guide as pre-requisite to view Talent Pool nominations that "View Current" visibility is granted on the Talent Pool MDF Object.

Therefore, the system will grant access to the Succession Tab in the Home drop-down menu. The user will only be able to access the Talent Pools tab and will not be able to see nominations or other Succession features unless the user has been granted the other pre-requisite permissions of the specific Succession data or feature.

This the current expected system behaviour and currently there is no way in which this can be edited in through the system UI.

Note:

• This is only the case when there are active Talent Pools in the system.
• If these active Talent Pools in the system do not meet the defined Talent Pool Object Target Population for a user's permission role, then that user will not have access to the Talent Pool page.
