2765781 - Creating a User field on a Foundation Object

Symptom

  • How to configure a custom-field on a Foundation Object to store the value of the Type "user".
  • For example, if an employee, who is responsible to administer a Location, needs to be maintained on the Object.

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Core - All Versions
  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - All Versions

Resolution

  1. Export the Corporate Data Model and Navigate to the Custom-Field section on the Object. (Ex: Location)
  2. Configure a custom-string field, set it to the type "worker" as below:

  1. Import the Data Model after making these changes and then go to the Location Object.
  2. The Field Appears on the Foundation Object which takes a user as an input value.
