2766908 - Product Specification Cannot be Selected in Purchase Order

Unable to select a Product Specification for an item in Purchase Order.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Purchase Requests and Orders Work center.
2. Go to Common tasks.
3. Select New Purchase Order.
4. Select View All.
5. Go to Items tab.
6. Choose Add row.
7. Select
   1. Item type as Material.
   2. Process Type of To-Stock.
8. Select a Product ABC in the Product ID column (ABC represents Product ID).
9. Go to Product Specification field under Basic data sub-tab.

When trying to select from list, system shows "No records found".

The Product Specification ID is not linked to the Product.

To check the status of the Product Specification, follow the steps below:

1. Go to Product and Service Portfolio Work Center.
2. Go to Product Specifications view.
3. Search for Product Specification XYZ (XYZ represents Product Specification ID).
4. Check the status of the Product Specification XYZ.

Case 1: If the status of the Product Specification is "In Process", the Product ID can still be added. To add a Product ID, continue the steps below:

1. Select Edit for the Product Specification XYZ.
2. In the Product ID field, the Product ID was not maintained.
3. Select the Product ABC in the Product ID field.
4. Select Save.
5. Choose Change status button.
6. Select Released.

Case 2: If the status is "Released", the Product ID can no longer be added, and a new Product Specification must be created. To create a new Product Specification for Product ABC, follow the below steps,

1. Go to Product and Service Portfolio Work Center.
2. Go to Common Tasks.
3. Select New Product Specification.
4. Maintain values for Product Specification ID and Product Specification Description fields.
5. Select the Product ABC in the Product ID field. 
6. Select Save.
7. Choose Change status button.
8. Select Released.
