Symptom

  • During downgrade of ASE or
  • When loading a cross-platform dump
  • Client connection is unexpectedly terminated and
  • ASE errorlog contains an infected with 11 error with a stack trace that includes des_udesfree , des_discardall and/or dbt_removeall :

Current process (0x1d000f) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
Address 0x0x0000000001bee2aa (des_udesfree+0x4a) ....

For a downgrade a typical stack would include :

des_udesfree
des_discardall
dbt_removeall
dbt_get
dbt_get_with_statuscheck
dbcontext_change
usedb
dsinit

For a cross-platform dump a typical stack would include :
