2767916 - Does Right to Return supports scenarios with multiple leave of absences (LOA) ?

Symptom

You are implementing the right to return and would like to know if we do support scenarios where employees has multiple leave of absences created.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) - 1902

Resolution

As of 1902 release Employee Central position management supports these type of scenarios with the upgrade for New Data Model for Right to Return and Data Protection and Privacy.

Question: How to upgrade to this feature?

Answer:

For this you may have two different scenarios:

  • In case you already have Right to Return Implemented and in use then please refer to New Data Model for Right to Return and Data Protection and Privacy to get instructions on how to upgrade to the new New Data Model for Right to Return.
  • If you are implementing the right to return now from scratch then you don't need to perform the update (this is automatic);

Question: What are the scenarios covered for Leave of Absences upgrade which was not previously covered?

Answer:

  1. Scenario 1:
    1. Position is a Mass Position;
    2. Employee applies for one Leave;
    3. Employee applies for a second leave (Note: We do not support creating multiple LOAs with dates that overlaps, the secconf leave mentioned here is a sequential leave starting on the day after the end date of the first leave);
    4. Employee returns from the second leave by updating the actual return date;
    5. The Position is assigned back to the employee;
  2. Scenario 2:
    1. Position is a regular position;
    2. Employee applies for one Leave;
    3. Employee applies for a second leave (Note: We do not support creating multiple LOAs with dates that overlaps, the secconf leave mentioned here is a sequential leave starting on the day after the end date of the first leave);;
    4. Employee returns from the second leave by updating the actual return date;
    5. The Position is assigned back to the employee;

Question: How do I know if I am already upgraded?

Answer:

  1. Go to Manage Data;
  2. Search by Position Right To Return;
  3. If you find the object and values created, this means you are already upgraded;

Important note: This upgrade is optional however is a pre-requisite for using data protection and privacy functions in Position Management
