2768818 - Incorrect Balance for G/L Account XYZ in General Ledger Accounts View

There is balance for G/L account XYZ in General Ledger Accounts view in General Ledger work center, but actually there is no any posting to this G/L account in current fiscal year.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to General Ledger work center and view General Ledger Accounts.
2. Input Company, Set of Book and select G/L account as XYZ.
3. Here is the balance.
4. Naviage to report G/L Accounts - Line Items, there is no any posting for this account.

The amount shown in General Ledger Accounts Monitor View because this account is for Retained Earnings and Balance Carry Forward is not yet performed for previous fiscal year so such amount is carried forward to current fiscal year.

How to check if this account is for Retained Earnings?

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Open the activity Charts of Accounts, Financial Reporting Structures, Account Determination.
3. Click Edit chart of accounts.
4. Select the G/L Account and click button Where-Used List.
5. Here can see the Account Determination: General Ledger: Retained Earnings-->Retained Earnings.

You can check the same balance in G/L Accounts-Line Items Report for Accounting Periods of last fiscal year and with P/L Account (G/L Account) as 1.

That is, the same amount is shown in the G/L Accounts - Line Items Report and the General Ledger Accounts view when filtered using the last accounting period of the last fiscal year in this General Ledger Accounts view.
