Symptom

Performance, memory or other errors (e.g Query entry is too big) happen for big hierarchies, sample symptoms:

  • using /ERP/WBSELMT hierarchy in custom Bex query.   However, the usage of a standard hierarchy triggers an issue in the corresponding query:   Bad request from application: Query entry is too big. It is accepted up to 40000000 characters. (DBMAN-099, <SystemID>) Error 9.999 has occurred in the BWA/SAP HANA server (DBMAN-901, <SystemID>)
  • Presentation hierarchy WBSH acts as a dynamic filter   and    Bad request from application: Query entry is too big. It is accepted up to 40000000 characters. (DBMAN-099, <SystemID>) Error 9.999 has occurred in the BWA/SAP HANA server (DBMAN-901, <SystemID>)
