2769482 - Installed Base Description In Different Languages

You have created an installed base / registered product and maintained its description in logon language. When logging to the system with different language, the description is not displayed.

Note: the below is an example of registered product but it is general behavior for installed base.

1. Log on with language ABC (ABC represents the logon language, for example English).
2. Go to the Installed Base work center.
3. Go to the Registered Products view.
4. Click Create (+) button.
5. Maintain mandatory fields and add description in language ABC.
6. Click Save button.
7. Registered product 123 has been created (123 represents the registered product ID).
8. Sign out and log on with different language DEF (DEF represents the second logon language, for example German).
9. Go to the Installed Base work center.
10. Go to the Registered Products view.
11. Find registered product 123.

The description field is empty.

When creating an installed base and maintaining its description in logon language ABC, the description is stored in that language ABC. When logging on with different language DEF, the description maintained in language ABC during creation of the installed base is not displayed because descriptions need to be maintained separately for different languages.

Maintain description for different languages separately to be able to see it and search for it by following the steps below:

1. Log on with the language DEF.
2. Go to the Installed Base work center.
3. Go to the Registered Products view.
4. Find registered product 123.
5. Click Edit button.
6. Maintain description in the desired language DEF.
