2769806 - ECO: ORA-28040 error connecting to Oracle 12 - SRS

Symptom

  • When using Oracle instant client libraries 10.2.0.4 or 10.2.0.5,
  • Creating an ExpressConnect for Oracle (ECO) connection to Oracle fails with the following error:

Message: 28040, State 0, Severity 5 -- '[ connection ][ OXP ] OCISessionBegin ORA-28040: No matching authentication protocol'.
