Symptom

  • SAP IQ crash on Windows without stack trace, errors.
  • sp_iqcheckdb 'allocation database' returns no error.
  • Only this error can be seen in the Windows event log, :

Application popup: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library: Runtime Error!
Program: C:\SybaseIQ\IQ-16_1\bin64\iqsrv16.exe

- pure virtual function call

  • To force the generation of a minidump, IQ was started with

-md normal
But no file named "*.dmp" can be found on the entire Windows host.
