2770589 - Salary ranges table values have an "E7" after import (Scientific Notation) - Compensation

Symptom

  • Why do my salary range tables have an E7 at the end of the number?
  • Why are the numbers that I have imported for my salary range tables different in the UI?

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Compensation Home
  2. Action for all Plans
  3. Import Salary Range Tables
  4. See some of the values with E7 in them

Cause

  • Scientific Notation - When there is a large number being displayed, the default JAVA behavior is to use the scientific notation. The number still remains correct.

Resolution

  • Currently there is no fix for this issue. There are no immediate plans for this to be addressed as their is no data impact.
  • There is no impact on calculations in the system as the number is still stored in the database correctly. This is simply a display issue.
