2771076 - Signal 11 in sqlexc_intercept_exception() - SAP ASE 16.0

Symptom

  • ASE errorlog reports an "infected with signal 11" error in the module sqlexc_intercept_exception() together with a stack trace:

Current process (0x682307b7) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
Address ... (sqlexc_intercept_exception+0x52)

This code is called from many places within the ASE and so far this issue has been recorded when:

  • The stack trace shows 'lasterror = 11041' in the error sequence and includes the functions:

    sqlexc_intercept_exception
    ex__doprint
    s_handle
    exc__raise
    oj_validate_onclause


    or

  • The stack trace shows 'lasterror = 208' in the error sequence and includes the functions:

sqlexc_intercept_exception
ex__doprint
s_handle
exc__raise
open_range
