Symptom

  • Client process unexpectedly disconnected
  • ASE shows a signal 10 (SIGBUS) error in the function named set_role followed by a stack overflow
  • ASE then shuts down
  • Example errorlog entries:

Current process (0xc90065) infected with signal 10 (SIGBUS)
Address 0x00000000814006b0 (set_role+0x1d0)

*** Stack corrupted, server aborting.
...
ueshutdown: exiting

  • The stack trace does not show any meaningful entries
